Leonid I. Garvin, Military Doctor 3rd Rank, 461st Mobile Surgery Unit

Military Doctor 3rd Rank Leonid I. Garvin (on the left in this picture, the two other officers in the picture are Chief Doctor (center) and Politruk) served as Deputy Chief Doctor of the 461st Mobile Surgery Unit in the 7th Army on the Isthmus. After his death in the 1970s the closest remaining relatives were the family of my grandfather, and all his belongings ended up in the summer cottage of my grandfather. It was only one year ago that Mr. Garvin's photo archive and papers were discovered by my younger sister in our summer cottage. The part of photo archive that covers Winter War period includes over 100 pictures. These pictures cover virtually all aspects of life in a Red Army field hospital during Winter War.
