In addition to the concrete fortifications, Leipasuo defence sector had a flood dam - a unique item. If the dam was sealed, it could create a vast flood area in front of Le6 and Le7 bunkers, as they are located on the hills close to the northern shore of Peronjoki river.

It seems that Finns indeed used the dam in the Winter War:
Captain Fedenko:
...in front of the barricades there were barbed wire fences, each row had 5 rods. in front of barbed wire fences along the front line ran Peronjoki river, some seven meters wide. Finns damed it up, it flooded half a kilometer wide area and froze. When ice became some 20 sm thick, the dam was destroyed, and water ran away, while the ice remained hanging on the small islands and hillocks at the height of 3 meters. There was a 1 meter layer of snow on the ice. Infantry could move on it, but it would not hold the tanks.

The girl who is sitting on the opposite side of the destroyed dam is my younger sister, but not the one who painted the cover page for this web site.
