Such coast forts were construceted along Vuoksi and Suvanto coastline in 1920s. These forts were of caponier type and had two flanking casemates equipped with cannons or machine gus firing along the water surface. Forts were also supported by a couple of frontal-firing MG bunkers. According to Talvisota hisoria (History of Winter War) book, the Noisniemi fort was under quite heavily damaged by artillery bombardment during hostilities.
