Patoniemi coast fort

Such coast forts were construceted along Vuoksi and Suvanto coastline in 1920s. These forts were of caponier type and had two flanking casemates equipped with cannons or machine guns firing along the water surface. Forts were also supported by a couple of frontal-firing MG bunkers. This fort was located quite close to Taipale bridgehead, which was scene of most ferocious fighting, and was heavily damaged in battles.
